Police Chief G.M. Cox of Murphy Texas, who earned is masters in Criminal Justice Management from SHSU , is working on his dissertation for a P.D. at the University of Texas – Arlington in Public Adminstration. He became a candidate as of June 2008.

Chris Cronen, a 1991 graduate of Sam Houston State University’s College of Criminal Justice, recently was promoted to Deputy Director of the National Firearms and Tactical Training Unit (NFTTU)at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Dr. George Day, who received his Ph.D. from the College of Criminal Justice in December, was named an assistant professor at East Texas University in Marshall, Texas.

Dr. Chuck Howard, who earned a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement and Police Science at SHSU College of Criminal Justice, was appointed Chair of the Forensic Psychology and Clinical Psychology graduate programs at the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University in Denver.

Dr. Amanda Johnson accepted a position as Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. Amanda received her Ph.D. from the College in August 2010.

Natalia Tapia, accepted a position as Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice in the Department of Justice, Law, and Public Safety Studies at Lewis University in Chicago, Illinois. Natalia is Ph.D. candidate.

Cody Velkovich, who graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 2008, was promoted to Field Supervisor of the Austin Region of Executive Security System, a privately owned security services contractor that provide permanent and temporary armed and unarmed security officers, mobile patrol services and private investigators throughout Texas.
