Nancy L. Kratzer was previously employed as the Deputy Special Agent in Charge, Dallas, Texas, for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), formerly the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. In this role, she managed a staff of more than 200 Federal Agents with an area of responsibility covering 128 counties in North Texas, Oklahoma encompassing five Department of Justice judicial districts. The HSI Dallas office has 11 criminal investigative groups that range from Financial Investigations; Counter Proliferations/ Joint Terrorism Task Force; Cyber Smuggling; Human Trafficking; a National Gang Unit, to Narcotics smuggling.
Ms. Kratzer’s previous position was an assignment in Washington D.C. where she was the Director of the National Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Center (IPR Center) serving as the Section Chief for ICE. She served as the Section Chief for Commercial Fraud Investigations with Homeland Security from June 2001 until September 2004. The IPR Center is a Federal law enforcement multi-agency center responsible for coordinating a unified U.S. Government response regarding intellectual property rights enforcement issues. She also served as the DHS representative to Interpol related to worldwide IPR.
Prior to accepting the position as Section Chief in Washington D.C., Ms. Kratzer served as a U.S. Customs Service Supervisory Criminal Investigator managing the Fraud Group in the Los Angeles, California field office. For more than three years, Ms. Kratzer supervised a group of Special Agents who investigated complex international smuggling and money laundering cases.
For 11 years, she served as a Senior Special Agent for the Dallas field office, U.S. Customs Service, predominately investigating Federal OCDETF cases. For eight years, Ms. Kratzer was employed as a Special Agent in the Office of Inspector General, Office of Investigations, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Dallas, Texas where she specialized in medical fraud investigations.
On Dec. 31, 2010, Ms. Kratzer retired from HSI. Ms. Kratzer served as a federal agent for 33 years. She is currently licensed in the state of Texas as a Private Investigator and Security Consultant and is President of Nancy K. Investigations, LLC.
Ms. Kratzer graduated from Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, Texas in 1979 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Police Science and Law Enforcement, Cum Laude.
