As a 25 year veteran of the U.S. Army, Angela S. Warner earned the distinction of becoming the first female helicopter pilot and first female supervisory agent for the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) Aviation Division.
Fifteen ROTC cadets at Sam Houston State University, including 12 criminal justice majors, were officially commissioned as officers in the U.S. Army during a ceremony last week.
Sam Houston State University – and the College of Criminal Justice – graduated its largest class to date on May 11, with five Ph.D., 32 Master and 295 Bachelor level students added to the criminal justice rolls.
The Southeast Texas Applied Forensic Science Facility honored 27 individuals, including six veterans and a cancer victim whose final weeks were documented in a KTRK news story, for donating their bodies for research at the facility during the 2011-2012 academic year.
Dr. Rita Watkins, Executive Director of the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas (LEMIT), and SHSU Graduate Student Angela Warner recently traveled halfway around the world to provide leadership training to women in law enforcement in Southeast Asia.
