After 40 plus years in the criminal justice system, James Kuboviak is still learning.
For six years, Corporal Ryan Herring (BA ’97) served on the innovative DWI Enforcement Team at the Austin Police Department, which helped pioneer “No Refusal” blood search warrants, participated in research and trained judges on field testing in impaired driving case.

Tucked among the Texas departments, federal agencies and private employers at the 2012 Criminal Justice Career Fair was a booth for the Columbia, Missouri Police Department. It was staffed by a Sam Houston State University alumnus.

Pierre Rivolta grew up in France, got his bachelor and master’s degrees in Switzerland and is pursuing his Ph.D. degree at Sam Houston State University in Texas.

The 2012 Criminal Justice Career Fair will feature numerous agencies from the field to discuss job and internship opportunities in law enforcement, corrections, courts, private security, victim services, forensics and related fields with current students, graduates and alumni.
High school students got to step inside the shoes of police, firefighters, lawyers and emergency medical workers during an statewide competition sponsored by the Texas Public Service Association (TPSA) at Sam Houston State University.
This year, the Criminal Justice Career Fair will extend into a weeklong event, with daily speakers from different aspects of the field, including law enforcement, forensic science, victim services, legal services, graduate studies and career services.
Jake Welch (MS ’08) hit the bull’s eye in his criminal justice career at the Target Corporation.
Among the presenters on a STAFS project were (l to r) Angela Rippley, Dr. Joan Bytheway, Kim Perez and Kevin Derr.Faculty and students from Sam Houston State University recently presented their research at an annual meeting of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS) in Atlanta.
